Food Bank Donations

As part of our ongoing efforts to engage our students in Community service, we have asked each class to get two dry food components requested for Ramadan Boxes in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank Organization. Each box contained rice, oil, pasta, flour, tomato sauce, sugar, dates and tea. It was a great chance to engage Met students in a community service act, and help them to make the connection to our vision, by empowering community members that are facing financial hardships during the holy month of Ramadan. The students not only bought the components of the bags but also participated in collecting and arranging the boxes in the elementary playground. The two classes that manage to collect the highest number of raw food items will go to a free visit to the factory of the Egyptian food bank premises in New Cairo to experience the process packing on a large scale arrange drop off to the under privileged cases registered on the Egyptian Food Bank database before Ramadan. Thank you so much for all Met students, parents and staff for their efforts in participating in this fundraising project. We are proud of this collaboration we have between the members of our school. “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
